Summer Picnic Registration
Please use this online form to register for the Arc summer picnic on August 7, 2010, 12:00-2:45 at Abe Rochlin Park in Oshkosh. The Art Off Main Gallery, 115 Washington Ave., is open for Oshkosh's downtown Gallery Walk, held the first Saturday of each month, 6-9 p.m. The gallery is also open 9-4 weekdays or by appointment.

Parent IEP Training (FVTC Riverside Campus, Rm 133C, 150 N. Campbell Rd., Oshkosh, from May 18, 2010 06:00 PM to May 18, 2010 08:00 PM)
For parents of students of any age or grade receiving special education services. Learn basic IEP process, the elements of an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), and the role and rights of parents and students. Each participant will receive a copy of "Special Education in Plain Language." Presented by Jenny Stonemeier of Wisconsin FACETS and hosted by Arc - Winnebago County Disability Association and the Oshkosh Area School District. Partly sponsored by the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD).
Family Care/IRIS Comparison Forum (1) (Neenah Office, Dept. of Human Services, 211 N. Commercial St., Neenah, from May 20, 2010 01:00 PM to May 20, 2010 03:00 PM)
This forum is for individuals and families who have been presented with their options for publicly funded long term care (IRIS or Family Care) and are undecided. Representatives from IRIS [Include, Respect, I Self-direct], the Lakeland Care District and the Winnebago County ADRC will answer questions posed by moderators. This meeting is sponsored by Winnebago County ADRC and will be the final forum conducted by the ADRC before the county transitions to the new long term care system on July 1, 2010. Moderators are Ken Stoffel, Deputy Director of Winnebago County Department of Human Services and Lea Kitz, Executive Director of Arc - Winnebago County Disability Association. Pre-registration is required.

Come join families with children with Down Syndrome at D2E's annual summer picnic. This year the picnic will be in the BIG shelter at South Park. Bring a dish to pass and have your kids dressed to play. Share stories and a good time together.
Dyslexia Workshop - math and the young learner (dyscalculia) (Ability Resource Center, 115 Washington Ave., Oshkosh, from May 26, 2010 06:30 PM to May 26, 2010 08:00 PM)
The next in the series of workshops on dyslexia, learn what created struggles for the young student with dyscalculia. If you are unsure about whether your child is experiencing a disability, or if you already know, this workshop will help you discern the difference and learn of techniques that work. Workshop is presented by Dr. William Kitz and is hosted by Arc - Winnebago County Disability Association and the Wisconsin Institute on Learning Disabilities and Dyslexia.

We are looking to having some fun in the sun at the water Park. There will be no charge for admission. The Arc will provide you with a pass. Bring some money for snacks if you plan to get some. We will meet at the Water Park, which is located at the intersection of Taft Avenue and Eagle Street. Take Bus #6 to the Taft Avenue and Eagle Street intersection. This month we will cover the concept of nutrition of food. Why and how eat certain foods has a huge impact in what we choose to eat. So you should look forward to cooking some very nutritious food this month.

No cost; Pre-registration appreciated. Join in on our popular Wii Bowling. You don’t need to be part of a team. Just give it a try. No matter what your ability is, you will have a great time.
